Now Available: Carbon Lehigh Downloadable Library (OverDrive)
Downloadable Ebooks and Eaudiobooks

Lower Macungie Library is proud to announce it will be offering you best-selling and classic eBooks and audiobooks available 24/7 through its digital library website, the Carbon Lehigh Downloadable Library (OverDrive) starting Friday, January 6th.

You can browse the collection, check out with your library card, and download to PC, Mac®, and many mobile devices. To get started, you will need to install free software. For audiobooks: OverDrive® Media Console™. To read eBooks, you’ll need Adobe® Digital Editions. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod®, Sony® Reader™, and many others. Some audio titles can also be burned to CD to listen on-the-go.

This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free with your LML library card. To get started downloading eAudiobooks and eBooks, please click here. So, for all of you who own some type of e-reader, or even have a tablet, smartphone or iPod touch, you will be able to borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks for FREE. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period, so no late fees! With best-selling novels, well-known classics, self-improvement guides, and much more to choose from, the new collection will have something for everyone.

If you already have a device you’d like to use or plan on getting one in the future, here is a list of compatible devices.

**You will have to use your home library to access the Carbon Lehigh Downloadable Library site. There is a drop-down that lets you pick a library, and you’ll have to choose your home library. Since this is a consortium, don’t worry, we all have access to the same collection. If you’re a Lower Macungie Library home patron (meaning you live in either Lower Macungie Township or Alburtis Borough), you’ll enter your full barcode number and then your 4 digit on the CLDL site.

We hope you’re as excited as we are for this new collection!
