Loan Periods

Borrowing Limits

• Membership cards must be presented to borrow materials and only be used by the cardholder.
• Reference materials and issues of current periodicals will not be loaned; they are in-library use only.
• Membership cards are not required for use of reference services or other materials within the library, including the Library Catalog and the Internet.

 Renewals  *Items may not be renewed/transferred to another card

• Outstanding fines totaling more than $5.00 must be paid prior to renewal.
• Items that are late at time of renewal will have fines assessed for those items.
• Items that have already been renewed must be checked in for at least one business day and available for loan before borrowing them again.
• Due dates for items that are renewed are calculated from the date of renewal, not the original due date.

  Reserves

• *Online reserves can only be made on items that are currently checked out. Patrons cannot have fines of more than $5.00 on their accounts in order to do online reserves.
• Members may request any item that is in circulation; reserves will be fulfilled in order from the earliest to the latest request.
• Patrons will be notified by telephone when an item they have reserved has been returned to the library. After such notification, the item will be held for 3 working days, after which it will either be returned to the shelf, or checked out to the next person on the reserve list.
• Patrons will still be responsible for the reserves fee in the event that the requested item is not picked up or if the request is not cancelled by the patron before it becomes available. Patrons will not be responsible for the reserves fee if they contact the library to cancel the request before the item becomes available for them. 
• Overdue and lost items are subject to fines.
