First Windish Fraternal Benefit Society of America: based in Bethlehem, Pa., it is a non-profit, benefit society that has for years focused on 'good works' in the surrounding Lehigh County area. The 'Windish' originated in 1913, when a large group of Slovenian Catholics from the Prekmurje area of Slovenia immigrated to the United States and settled in Bethlehem and establishes St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on the South Side of Bethlehem.
We are most thankful to Mr. Jim Lancsek, Vice Chairman of the Community Involvement Committee.
