Public Use Computers
We have 13 computers that offer high-speed Internet access as well as MS Office 2010 productivity suite. Staff will provide assistance as necessary and as time permits. You will need a Lower Macungie Library card to use the computers. A guest pass can be issued for temporary visitors. For more information on how to use the public PCs, visit our Computer Use FAQ and our Computer and Internet Use Policy. All users are responsible for damage to library hardware or software and for compliance with the library use policy.
The library now offers laptops for library cardholders ages 13 and above for in-library use. The laptops may be checked out from the Circulation Desk for up to 2, two-hour sessions a day. The laptops must remain in the library at all times. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved. Please read the Library Laptop Lending Policy for more information. Patrons must sign a Library Laptop Lending Agreement before borrowing a laptop.
Free Public Wireless Access
We also provide free wireless Internet access for users with portable computers/devices capable of receiving wireless signals throughout the library. Please note that the wireless network is an unsecured connection; it is the responsibility of the laptop/wireless device owner to provide anti-virus and firewall protection when using the Internet via the wireless network. Patrons using personal laptops or mobile devices are expected to use the library’s wireless access in accordance with the Library’s Wireless Access Policy. All users are expected to use the library wireless access in a legal and responsible manner.
