Teen Summer Reading

Summer Reading Info... Get FREE Stuff!

Yes, we know you have required reading, but we want you to read for fun this summer, too! Check out the reading lists page, where you'll find fun reading lists... as well as the required ones! Then, when you read (whether required or for fun), stop in for raffle tickets and enter our Teen Read Raffle for a chance to win some cool prizes. (You can sign up/track online or sign up in person at the library... either way, you have to stop in for the raffle tickets) Or, sign up for Read 3, Get 1 FREE... when you read and review 3 books, you can come in and choose a free book out of our random assortment of "extra" books.

If you're looking for programs, sign up for a book discussion. We'll have one for both Middle School (Books for Brunch) and High School (Books for Lunch)... when you choose a book based on the genre and show up the day of the book discussion, we'll provide the FREE brain food needed to discuss the books! The genre for high school will be steampunk, described as "archaic tech (either real or fanciful), the supernatural and "postmodern metafictional tricksterism" set in the historical past or alternate timelines"... sounds like a mouthful but with all the possibilities, definitely interesting! Sign up for the discussion on 7/24 and get FREE lunch and all participants are entered to win a free copy of Scott Westerfeld's steampunk hit, Leviathan!

On July 10th and 24th, stop in the library anytime between 9-5 to check out a display of "library 2.0" ideas we're pursuing to serve you better. Facebook (we have one!), blogs, book trailers, del.icio.us, and podcasts to name a few... but we want your input, so stop by foriThink Teen 2.0!

You can come in NOW to sign up for all programs... We hope to see you this summer to Make Waves @ Your Library!
