Library Assistant (part-time)

Lower Macungie Library is currently accepting applications for a part-time Library Assistant with 20 hours per week scheduled at $11.00 to start. Flexibility to take on varied shifts as needed. Mandatory staff meeting the first Wednesday of every month.

Youth Services Assistant (part-time)

Are you passionate about children and teen literacy, literature, and learning? Does leading storytime, connecting families with great books, or conducting STEAM experiments with students seem more like fun than work?
The Lower Macungie Library is currently accepting applications for a part-time Youth Services assistant. Your 20-hour workweek includes a varied schedule designed to meet the needs of the department, which may include evening and weekend hours. $14.00/hour to start.

The Youth Services department provides library services and programming for children ages birth-18 and their families. We are looking for someone to share creativity, knowledge, and talents with community. The Youth Services Assistant works very closely with the Youth Services Director, and needs to be open to collaborating and working as part of a team while also being able to work independently without direct supervision.

This position requires an Associate’s Degree or higher, with a preference to a degree or coursework in Education, Early Childhood Education, or Library Science. A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children or teens in an educational setting is required – experience with library programs is a plus. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds – proficiency in a language other than English is desirable.

Allentown Public Library opening
JOB#20210910: Inter-Library Delivery Driver (Part-Time)

Immediate opening: Thursday through Saturday, approximately 15 hours per week, with the ability to substitute on additional days as need and/or maintain flexibility within the schedule
An Inter-Library Delivery Driver (PT) will sort, load, unload, and deliver library materials to local libraries throughout Lehigh and Carbon Counties. Deliveries take place on a daily basis; the library supplies the vehicle. No CDL license is required, but candidates must be 21 years or older and possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, both for a minimum of three (3) years.
In accordance with PA Department of Human Services guidelines, all prospective employees must also be able to provide following documents before starting employment. Once employed, all employees are required to submit updated copies of each document every sixty (60) months:
• PA State Criminal Record Check
• Child Abuse Clearance
• FBI Federal Criminal Background

In addition to a valid license and clean driving record, the Ideal Candidate should:
• Be self-motivated and prompt
• Possess a H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
• Be professional, considerate and have a positive attitude
• Have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
