Every two months, Lower Macungie Library displays original artwork by a different member of the Parkland Art League. Art exhibited is available for purchase. Throughout the months of December and January, the library is featuring the artwork of Judy Leichssenring.
Judy started painting with watercolors in 1998 while living under the cloudless skies of southern California. She has taken drawing and painting classes through community college, adult education, and the Baum School. Recently, she began working with acrylics, finding them more compatible with her desire to draw and paint defined shapes. Not satisfied with the rapid drying time of acrylics on the palette, she has now started working in oils. Judy prefers creating landscapes or still life. For her, art is both a way to challenge herself for improvement and a way to just have fun. She feels fortunate to be involved in the arts in the information age, where art history and art tutorials are available to everyone on the internet.
