Welcome back to our Escape the Ordinary summer series! If you’ve ever been to a bookstore, you know how the book sections are clearly marked and organized. Well Jeff Wysaski decided to mix things up at his local Los Angeles book store.
Wysaski took it upon himself to create new and “alternative” sections “that would describe the books more accurately.” Just one example is that the books about food were renamed from “Culinary” to “Meals you intend to make, but never will.” Check out this site for pictures of his new sections!
After the success of his renamed sections, Wysaski later on created and left behind “Fake Self-Help Books.” While he didn’t write the full books, he did create entire book covers, with information about the book, and an “about the author” back panel! He placed these books amongst actual book shelves in the same store. It makes you wonder how many people actually picked up So Your Son is A Centaur and were disappointed that it was a fake!
Just a reminder that while the library is closed tomorrow, Saturday, July 4, our online resources are always available, so you’re never without a book or movie. Enjoy your holiday!
