This Fun Day Friday we will be Escaping the Ordinary by looking at two different book festivals where people actually traveled to participate in book-related events.
Last week, the annual Book Expo America conference was held in Chicago. This yearly conference is the “largest annual book trade fair in the United States” which features the latest in print and digital book publishing. It not only is for booksellers, librarians, and authors, but for anyone who loves books! BuzzFeed asked attendees at BEA why they think people should read more, and published a list of the 26 best responses.
Looking to Escape the Ordinary by attending a book festival? Well you’re in luck!! On Saturday, September 5, Lower Macungie Library will be taking a bus trip to spend a “Day in Washington, D.C.” to visit the National Book Festival. The cost is $50 for the bus trip. Interested in going to D.C. that day with us, but don’t feel like visiting the Book Festival? No problem! Feel free to spend a day visiting museums and attractions.
Continue to Escape the Ordinary this summer by participating in the Summer Reading Program, and various other programs all summer long!
