Happy Friday! Last week I talked about Jen and Greg’s amazing story. For those who missed it- On November 2nd, Greg will be donating part of his liver to Jen. Jen has been suffering with a malfunctioning liver for many years, and this year has been especially difficult for her. When Greg found out he was a perfect match, he generously and selflessly became her donor.
We can all use some good news and it seems like the local media thought so too! Both the Morning Call and WFMZ News came in to interview Jen and Greg to share their story. Greg and Jen both want to share the importance of health literacy and just how amazing organ donation can be.
On Saturday, October 28, we will have a bake sale to benefit Jen and Greg. The bake sale will be held during the Library’s 2nd “A Taste of Soup” from noon to 2PM at the Library, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. Proceeds from A Taste of Soup will support Library programs and services. Local restaurants, individuals will compete for the “Best Soup” in several challenges. Tickets are $10 for adults and $1 for children 11 and under. Tickets will be available at the door. A GoFundMe account has also been set up for their expenses at https://www.gofundme.com/liver-fund-to-support-jen-greg
We are all so excited for Jen and Greg and encourage you to learn more about Organ Donation and the wonders it does!
