Meetings: Meetings are held in the library the third Saturday of every month, September through May.
Membership: Join the Friends of Lower Macungie Library for $10 per year. Dues are paid for calendar year January through December. Members can shop the Thursday book sale preview night for best selection.
Book Sales: Two book sales are held every year in the library in early May and late November.
The Spring 2018 Book Sale will be held in the library on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th (bag sale starts at 2:30 on the 5th). The Friends’ Preview Night will be held on Thursday, May 3rd from 5pm-7:30pm (must be a member of the Friends of LML to attend – memberships available at the door – $10/year).
Super deals on fiction, non-fiction, audios, movies and children’s books. Most priced from $.50 to $2.00. All proceeds benefit the Library.
We are currently accepting item donations for the Spring Book Sale. The last day for item dropoff is March 31, 2018. We will start accepting donations once again on August 1, 2018.
Acceptable donations include: gently used books, DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks on CD. Unacceptable donations include: items that are damaged, dirty or incomplete, magazines, newspapers, textbooks, encyclopedias and Reader’s Digest condensed books. A receipt will be provided upon request, however, by law, library staff cannot set values for donated material.
The Fall 2018 Book Sale will be held in the library on Friday, November 16th and Saturday, November 17th (bag sale starts at 2:30 on the 17th). The Friends’ Preview Night will be held on Thursday, November 15th from 5pm-7:30pm (must be a member of the Friends of LML to attend – memberships available at the door – $10/year).
Accomplishments: Money raised at the Fall 2017 Book Sale: $6,954.76 ; money raised for the library since inception in 2010: $60,695. Items funded by the Friends include support for:
- Library equipment
- Multimedia needs, shelving carts, program room furniture, children’s tables and chairs, power/USB outlets at Reference area tables
- Youth programming
- Staff development
- Virtual library (a.k.a. website)
- Wireless printing
- Adult programming
- Digital magazines
- iPad catalog kiosks
- General technology needs

- Our weekly Social Sorting of books every Thursday at 8:30-10am at the library!
