Meetings: Meetings are held in the library the third Saturday of every month, September through May.
Membership: Join the Friends of Lower Macungie Library for $10 per year. Dues are paid for calendar year January through December. Members can shop the Thursday book sale preview night for best selection.
Book Sales: Two book sales are held every year in the library in early May and late November.
The Spring Book Sale will be held in the library on Thursday, May 4th (Friends’ preview night), May 5th and 6th (bag sale starts at 2:30 on the 19th). The Friends’ Preview Night will be held on Thursday, May 4th from 5pm-7:30pm (must be a member of the Friends of LML to attend – memberships available at the door – $10/year).
Super deals on fiction, non-fiction, audios, movies and children’s books. Most priced from $.50 to $2.00. All proceeds benefit the Library.
We are currently accepting item donations until April 1, 2017. At that time, we will stop collecting in order to prepare for the Spring Book Sale.
Accomplishments: Money raised at the Fall 2016 Book Sale: $5,572 ; money raised for the library since inception in 2010: $45,657. Items funded by the Friends include support for:
- Library equipment
- Multimedia needs, shelving carts, program room furniture, children’s tables and chairs, power/USB outlets at Reference area tables
- Youth programming
- Staff development
- Virtual library (a.k.a. website)
- Wireless printing
- Adult programming
- Digital magazines
- General technology needs

Ways to become involved with the Friends:
- Our weekly Social Sorting of books every Thursday at 8:30-10am at the library!
- Decorate the library for the holidays
- Aide library staff with special events/catering of events (we have excellent cooks & bakers!)
- Advocate for the library
