Teen Reads – Summer Reading Program
This summer, we are Building A Better World as part of our Teen Reads Summer Reading Program. Enter our weekly raffle for a chance to win gift cards. You can earn entries by reading a book, writing a book review, attending a teen program, or volunteering at the library. We also offer a great line-up of programs just for students entering grades 6-12 during the 2017-18 school year – from stop motion animation workshops to after-hours teen lock-ins.
*The Teen Reads Raffle is open to students entering grades 6-12, who reside in the East Penn School District.
Want to get started? Fill out the online registration form, or stop by the library for a paper registration form.
NEW! Summer Teen Library Volunteer Program
Looking to get more involved with the library? Need to complete volunteer hours for school, religious groups, or other organizations? Will you be entering grades 7-12 next year? We are now accepting applications for our new Summer Teen Library Volunteer program.
Summer Teen Volunteers are able to help shelve children’s books, assist with youth services programs, or prepare materials for library programs.
Download the Teen Volunteer Packet, read it, fill out the application and other paperwork, and either return it to the library or email it to Lisa Underwood, Youth Services Director (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Volunteers are required to attend one 2-hour orientation session on Saturday, June 17 (10:00 am – 12:00 pm). Paperwork must be returned to the Youth Services Director by Wednesday, June 14th to be considered.
Teen Advisory Board
Teens, we want to hear from you! What do you want from your library? Join our Teen Advisory Board to share your opinion about new titles you’d like to see in our collection, programs you’d like to plan or see offered, and more. Your time at TAB meetings and programs can count as community service hours, and we always offer snacks! Email email@example.com for more information or to register for our next meeting. New members (in grades 6-12) are always welcome!
The Teen Advisory Board typically meets on the 3rd Friday of each month at 3:30 pm. Check the Events Calendar for a current schedule.
